Hubert Chesneau is a DPLG architect and golf architect, watercolourist, 1st series  player, international referee.

Captain of the French golf teams from 1975 to 1979, he then took over the chairmanship of the National Sports Commission until 1984. In 1989, Hubert Chesneau became General Manager of the French Golf Federation, a position he held until when he left at the end of 2006.

He created the golf courses of: Golf de l'école de l'air, Golf de Saint-Malo , Golf de Villacoublay , Golf de Loudun , Golf national in collaboration with Van Hage, Golf de Limoges Saint Lazare , Golf de Saint Pierre du Perray , Aubazine golf course , Saint Quentin en Yvelines golf course
