Born on the initiative of a group of local entrepreneurs, in September 1987, the Modena Golf & Country Club owes its design to the German champion Bernhard Langer in collaboration with the American architect Jim Engh.
Situated at a height of 100 meters on an extension of over one hundred hectares, the golf course is among the best in Italy due to its construction characteristics.
The wide greens and tees, the design of the fairways, the five artificial lakes, the typical landscape of the Modena hills among oaks, maples and evergreen shrubs, make it an ideal course both for amateurs'' games and for important competitions, such as the Open di''Italia which celebrated its 50th anniversary with an edition on the Modena route.
The 9-hole Executive course, the large driving range with an indoor simulator, two tennis courts, the gym and the swimming pool complete the sports facilities.
In the Club House, in addition to the bar-restaurant, the Club has various spaces for social life, with rooms for playing cards, a TV room, a billiard room and a wellness area, with saunas and relaxation areas. A well-stocked proshop is available to members and guests.
The centuries-old oaks and the ancient villages, now used as residences, bring us back to Modenese history: Casa Zanasi, with the 15th century tower, the beautiful country house and the oratory dating back to the 16th century, Casa Le Lame, decorated on the facades with the characteristic rhombuses that distinguished the buildings of the possessions of the ancient Aggazzotti family, Ca ''Bruciate di Sotto and di Sopra, which in the middle enclose the residence of the "Laghetti Vecchi". Last but not least, La Tegagna, once also a post office, whose elegant lines are engraved in the symbol of the Club.
