On the site of the former military airport Niederkrüchten - Elmpt there is a 76 hectare golf course. It was built in 1954 by the Royal Air Force as a sports facility for soldiers and servants, and has been carefully maintained and developed since then. The golf course is embedded in a beautiful park and heathland, far away from any traffic noise, ideal for golf at its most beautiful. The sandy soil ensures perfect drainage and guarantees year-round playability.

On June 1, 2015, the European Golf Club Elmpter Wald eV took over the operation of the Elmpt golf course from the West Rhine Golf Club. With the clearance of the military site on November 13, 2015, a long-term, contractually concluded lease of the golf course began.
