Golf Club Linz - Luftenberg, founded in 1992, is located in the charming hilly landscape of the Mühlviertel, northeast of Linz. Golf fans not only appreciate the beautiful location, but also the short journey of 10 minutes from the city center of Linz. The historical and cultural significance of the so-called castle, which originates from the 2nd half of the 16th century and is a listed building, lies in its function as a meierhof (farmyard), the type of construction of which makes it one of the significant representatives of Upper Austria. It was placed in front of the 12th century castle, which was probably demolished in the 18th century.
Members and guests can expect a restaurant with excellent cuisine and attentive service within these old walls. The stylish, cozy rooms and the quiet terrace in the inner courtyard are a popular meeting point for golfers and non-golfers.
The putting green is uniquely embedded and can hardly be found more idyllic in the middle of the inner courtyard of the historic building. The well-known designer Keith Preston designed the golf course into a varied and challenging 18-hole course. Since autumn 2020, adaptations to the redesign have been carried out under the professional direction of the golf course designer DI Diethard Fahrenleitner.
