The golf course, designed by Peter Matkovich, an accomplished designer of several South African golf courses, flows with harmony amongst the trees and dry river bed. Golfers at Omeya can expect one of the greatest golfing experiences in Africa - something that will equal anything in the world - when they tee up. 18 holes of true African, and more specifically Namibian bushveld, surrounded by beautiful mountains and Camel Thorn trees, breath-taking views, not to mention the sunrises and sunsets.
The golf course offers a great golfing experience for all levels of golfers. The top golfers have their work cut out to break par, negotiating trees, natural hazards, and some flowing contours. The novice and average golfer are able to go around the course with wide playing areas, safe options on some of the more penalizing holes, and enjoy a course with great balance. In typical Peter Matkovich design philosophy, this is a course designed and shaped on site, amongst the trees, the riverbeds and the contrasting landscape of this true Namibian gem. This ensures the best and most natural golf course that the site has to offer. A walk in a proudly Namibian park will urge the golfer to return for yet another round again and again.
The clubhouse can cater for 100 people and is cool and welcoming for the 19th hole after an enjoyable round of golf in the warmth of the African sun. The driving range has natural grass, target greens, and a chipping and bunker practice facility as well as a practice putting green.
