Bungool course
“The Bungool course has exciting potential” says David Elvins. “The best holes are as good as anywhere, while its condition and attention to detail will continue to improve as the course matures”
The 6300m Bungool layout is the newest addition to the Sydney golf market and is a “must play” offering an enjoyable testing option with its risk-reward, links style design overlooking the scenic Hawkesbury river, the golf course is known for its natural beauty and has been touted by many as “a hidden gem”.
While almost the same length as Riverside Oaks’ original course Gangurru, the exciting new layout demands more precise tee shots although the fairways are very generous. The natural rough defines and shapes the golf course to create a fantastic challenge for any golfer making Bungool one of the best championship golf courses in the country.
Designer Bob Harrison — whose portfolio includes such highly rated layouts as Ellerston, Brookwater, The Glades, The Grand, The Vintage, Stonecutters Ridge and the National course at Moonah — justly can be very proud of Bungool.
Bungool offers golfers of all standards a truly amazing experience with wonderful wildlife including kangaroos, echidnas, wombats and kookaburra’s on the golf course all year round. Bungool certainly creates an extraordinary experience at Riverside Oaks Golf Resort!
- Gangurru course
The 18-hole par 72 championship Golf course is 6311 metres long and is consistently rated in the top 100 Public Access Golf Courses in Australia. The immaculate presentation, expansive greens and world class facilities create one of Sydney’s finest resort courses.
The Golf course layout is well designed for golfers of all standards offering a challenging, rewarding game in a superb natural surround. Riverside Oaks has hosted many charity events and tournaments including The Australian TPC, The Australian PGA Championship and The NSW PGA Championships.
In recent times the layout has been given a new lease of life with a refurbishment of all bunkers and the inclusion of a few new ones. The greens and fairways have also undergone a heavy improvement program, the result being a golf course that is once again one of the best public access golf courses in the country.
