The Club was founded in order to form a social and sports institution, especially golf, as stated in the Founding Act signed on April 26, 1924 at the well-known Cruz Chica Hotel, at the initiative of Ing. Rolando R. Harding, Domingo Minetti, RF Farran, and RC Runciman. The first president was Mr. Alfredo Benitz who undertook the construction of the field on the land acquired from the Estancia San Gerónimo, owned by Mr. Roberto Runciman, and on neighboring properties that belonged to Lisandro Lescano and Lucio Kuhn and for the design of Mr. Juan Dentone, creator of several links throughout the country, including the Mar del Plata Golf Club, was summoned to the court.
During the first years of existence in one part of the court there were many stones and during the game they were getting up to clean the property. Around 1950, certain days of the week were used to work with a pick and shovel, remove the stones with a wheelbarrow and fight the ant hills. For these tasks everyone helped: the members of the commission, partners and employees. It was hard work that lasted a few months, but today such effort is appreciated
The club house was built parallel to the court, with the traditional architecture of that time; the property had to be filled with black earth and the golfers had to gather the stones while they played and then be removed, and thus reach the splendid 18 holes of 6001 yards, par 70 today, in 1960 the pool and then the courts were built tennis and paddle tennis. For many years the field was open exclusively during vacation periods, since most of the members from the Federal Capital came only in summer. This began to be reversed as the inhabitants of La Cumbre began to play and actively participate in the Club''s decisions.
