THE SCHMITTENHÖHE COURSE
The Championship-Course Golf Schmittenhöhe is something unique for the demanding golfer. Its 18 holes feature many risk and reward shots. Even the first hole can be decisive for the "all or nothing" of your round. So be careful if you go for the whole thing too early.
Well placed tees are the key to your approach shots to the elevated greens. With an accurate, well-placed long drive, experienced golfers can dare to attack the par 5s with a second shot, but these approach shots are narrowed and well guarded by bunkers and water.
The golf architect Don Harradine is responsible for the construction and arrangement of the course. For many years the Englishman was one of the most important golf course architects in Europe. The course record on the original golf course ''Schmittenhöhe'' has been held since 1992 by the German Bernhard Langer with 66 strokes.
Special features Schmittenhöhe Course, Course 2: Right at the 2nd hole the action starts. A par 3 with 212 metres and about 50 metres of water directly after the tee.
THE KITZSTEINHORN COURSE
The course Kitzsteinhorn is only slightly shorter than the course Schmittenhöhe, which is directly adjacent. The two golf courses between Zell am See and Kaprun are a good example of how two courses so close together can be so different and yet each one provides the greatest golfing pleasure in its own way.
The flat green and generously proportioned fairways of the Kitzsteinhorn course inspire joy and give confidence - but players who stray too far from them find themselves surrounded by uncompromising obstacles such as roughs, trees and water. Golfers of all levels will enjoy this golf course near Kaprun and find many reasons to play the Kitzsteinhorn course again and again.
