The mansion, a brick building designed by the well-known Hamburg architect Erich Elingius in 1925, has been repeatedly modernized in line with the spirit of the times over the course of the golf club''s sixty-year history.
Careful attention was always paid to ensuring that the original character was not lost. The furnishings ensure harmonious cosiness.
The GHW course is a challenging golf course in a unique landscape. Since our founding in 1960, we have played on one of the most beautiful and unusual courses in Hamburg. By Bernhard v. Designed in Limburg and renovated by Christoph Städler in 2015/2016, our course offers a fascinating golfing experience in the midst of a northern German terminal moraine and crevice landscape. Tall trees, beautiful, wide views over the countryside and the Bredenbeker pond describe a place to fall in love and linger.
We know what we owe our environment and have dedicated ourselves extensively to golf and nature. We fully support this DGV initiative and are proud to have the Gold Golf & Nature Certificate. We work sustainably for the beautiful nature that makes our place worth seeing.
There are around 200 tree species and many animals on the square, from deer to honey bees. We are part of a regional bee protection program and even produce our own honey.
The square is an oasis of peace and nature, without traffic and yet in the immediate vicinity of the city of Hamburg.
