More than 90 years have passed since a crowd of eager summer guests decided to stake out something that was barely reminiscent of a golf course on the beach meadows just south of Torekov. Then in the 1920s, only a few people had the will and financial opportunities to engage in golf. For 1920s pioneer golfers in Torekov - bandy doctor Sune Almqvist, Consul General Bergsten and cavalry colonel Barnonen Cederström, it was perfectly okay with some grazing accidents hit with cocoons, greens cut with kitchen scissors and where the holes inside are covered with empty anchovy jars.
Torekov today - a course with a link character
At the far end of the Bjäre Peninsula, with a view of Hallands Väderö and where the waves from the Kattegat meet the Scanian coast, lies Torekovs GK. Torekovs Golfklubb is one of Sweden''s oldest clubs with a long tradition and pride. The course is a classic links course and has a character that offers great variety depending on the weather and wind. Mastering different types of strokes therefore helps you meet the challenges of the course.
The club today has about 1250 golfing seniors and about 200 juniors. Torekovs Golfklubb offers a golf course of the highest class and with a wonderful view both out on the course, on the range and from the golf restaurant''s porch. Our aim is for all members and guests to feel at home at the club and experience a links course of absolute top class.
