Oslo Golf Club was founded on 13 June 1924 and is the country's oldest golf club. Shipowner A. F. Klaveness was elected the club's first chairman, and the club secured land from Nini Egerberg, who owned Bogstad Gård. The golf course, then with nine holes, was opened for play in August 1924.
