Staying in the Basque Country or native of the region, come and discover the Golf d''Arcangues and its breathtaking view of the Pyrenees chain.
The legitimacy of golf in the Basque Country no longer needs to be proven. The richness of the courses and the variety of terrains make the region an exceptional golfing destination.
At the gates of Biarritz, the Golf d''Arcangues is part of a majestic site around the village of Arcangues, and offers a great diversity of games. Between mountains and ocean, this peaceful course is distinguished by its many natural unevenness.
At the golf course, the Club House, in a traditional Basque house, houses the reception as well as the Proshop in which you will find the golfer''s essentials. Within the building, the Restaurant and its terrace with a view of the Pyrenees will delight you with its refined traditional cuisine.
History - Golf d''Arcangues was created in the 90s by brothers Guy and Jean d''Arcangues, designed by American architect Ronald Fream. It is part of the second generation of courses on the Basque Coast.
A family property since 1150, brothers Guy and Jean d''Arcangues decided to transform agricultural land into a golf course. Guy, the gifted artist, is the key player in the Basque gentry. A top-level golfer, he was part of the French amateur team. Jean, the builder, the active visionary gives confidence and reassures. The two make a pair, they share and invent, guided by the family spirit.
At the end of the 1980s, driven by the enthusiasm and passion for a sport, they were launched into the creation of golf, and nothing would stop them. Quality of the course, proximity to communication axes and the region of Biarritz and its coast, exceptional site in the heart of the Basque Country... The Golf d''Arcangues is not lacking in assets!
With the participation of the most friendly and professional of Olivier Léglise, and under the direction of Arnaud and Avelino d''Arcangues, too marked reliefs are erased in order to facilitate the game but without impoverishing it. The result obtained is that of a hilly course, very fun and fair.
A favorite place for professional golfers, a small game center was opened in 2011. Players such as Grégory Bourdy, Romain Wattel, Edouard Espana and Benjamin Hébert are regularly seen there under the rigorous eye of their coach.
The Golf d''Arcangues is today a homogeneous site around a preserved environment where a warm and friendly atmosphere reigns.
