The Düsseldorf Golf Club is one of the top addresses in German golf. This assessment is based on our beautiful golf course, which, in addition to a very interesting golf course architecture and topography, shows a very high standard of care and is constantly being improved and beautified through extensive investments.
Founded in 1961, the club can look back on 60 years of history. Major events in the past can be listed, for example the international amateur championships for women, the Rommeljanspreis and numerous ProAms. The tournaments in the 1970s had top-class participants such as Bernhard Langer (who still holds the course record), Torsten Giedeon (world champion with Bernhard Langer in 1990), Karl-Heinz Gögele and O. Gartenmeier.
The basic goal of our performance-oriented youth work is to promote and support our young people in golf from the popular sport in the respective classes. More than 120 young people are supported in 16 different youth groups by three qualified golf instructors and one trainee. The school golf models in the DGC are another way to increase the performance density of our young people.
The numerous awards for successful youth work are motivation for DGC to continue on this path. In addition to winning the green ribbon of the Dresdner Bank twice, we are happy about the third national victory in the competition for exemplary and age-appropriate youth work of the German Golf Association "Future Youth 2013".
In addition, we feel connected to the tradition of the oldest golf club in Düsseldorf and continue to build on an intact club life. For us, the terms cosmopolitanism, sympathy, sportiness, fairness and tradition have a great value that we want to preserve.
