One of the oldest and finest heathland golf courses in Great Britain. The course was intially designed by Harry Colt and subsequently enhanced by James Braid.
A full eighteen hole true Championship Course of 6,835 yards (par 71, course rating 73.7, slope rating 140) awaits you with none of the modern water hazards but ninety eight bunkers of local sand and long carries over punishing swathes of heather.
As a general rule we are renowned for our ''most excellent'' greens and a long, demanding turn for home. Very rarely will your ‘second half’ score better the first.
The English Golf Union, when staging the 2006 England Boy’s Amateur Stroke Play Championships, described Sherwood Forest Golf Club as being ''in a league of its own''. As a premier course the club has hosted many national competitions over the years, including the ''British and English Seniors'' and regional qualifying for the ''Open Championship''.
We welcome you as a possible future visitor to Sherwood Forest Golf Club.
