The Prieuré golf course celebrated its fiftieth anniversary. For half a century, the 36 holes of this French Vexin club have been enjoying the valleys of the Yvelines countryside.

It''s been half a century since the Scotsman Fred Hawtree took the measure of these gentle slopes to create the East and West courses of the Prieuré golf course on both sides of the road running towards Normandy.

The EAST course - After the first two flat holes with water obstacles, the EAST Course will allow you to discover the rolling hills of Vexin, which are beautifully colored in autumn. Although the course is wooded, it remains quite wide. Throughout its 18 holes, you will appreciate the tranquility of its environment which contrasts with the nuisances of the city. The greens are large, steep and regularly fast.

The design is varied and fun. A few cants come to thwart the beautiful trajectories while doglegs complicate things with blind blows above the trees. The course is technical, narrow, hilly and therefore quite demanding even if its length is only 5937 meters for a par 72.

The WEST route - The WEST course begins with a long and selective par 3, followed by 5 difficult holes. With three relatively short par 5s, the back offers more birdie opportunities. The West course is less hilly than the East but its raised greens, of the "turtle back" type, will put your little game to the test. Like the East, it is a haven of peace preserved from any nuisance.

It is spacious, the par 4s are long, the greens quite small, often raised as Hawtree knew how to do. The bunkers are well placed while the forest easily delimits the direction of the game while offering beautiful inextricable roughs for wandering swings.

The course record is signed by Robin Sciot-Siegriest with a score of 65.
