Troon Country Club''s elite golf course has been sculpted from the desert, and has played host to the United States Mid-Amateur Championship, Arizona Open, Ping Pro Scratch, and the Merrill Lynch Shoot Out.
Ours was the first course designed by Jay Morrish and international tour pro Tom Weiskopf, who won the 1973 Open Championship at Royal Troon in Scotland. Tom was intimately involved in the design and construction process and once the course was completed, he played the first round with our Members. To this day, Tom is actively involved with the maintenance of our course’s integrity. Our course not only shares design similarities to our namesake, Royal Troon but we continue to maintain a warm relationship with our Scottish sister, which is demonstrated through our reciprocity with them.
Stretching from 5,160 to over 7,040 yards, the course is kept in meticulous condition and each expertly designed fairway provides the opportunity to play it safe for an enjoyable round, or dare to risk the reward of a more challenging route. Our practice complex features a double-sided driving range, two bunker and chipping facilities, and a large putting green that provides on course amenities such as chilled bottled water, fresh seasonal fruit and scented towels.
As a Certified Audubon Sanctuary, our course seamlessly integrates with the natural Sonoran Desert environment, yielding breathtaking scenery while preserving the native wildlife.
To ease your play our golf carts are equipped with GPS systems that not only provide you with information such as the distance from the green, but you can keep score and even order a meal.
When you step into the Golf Shop not only will you find a Professional staff that shares the love for golf, they are all PGA Apprentices and Assistant Golf Professionals. A synergy that goes beyond sharing a title, they share all of the responsibilities of the golf operation and are dedicated to elevating your golf experience.
Our well-merchandised Golf Shop provides Members with the tools they need to keep their game sharp. During the season you’ll find our Demo days are a great social outing that not only provide Members an opportunity to preview and test the newest innovations by leading golf brands, but we often couple this event with local wine and food purveyors.
If you are traveling our Golf Professionals can minimize the hassle at the airport by shipping your clubs to your destination. This service allows you to see up-to-date information relating to the transit of your clubs to give you peace of mind.
