The start for Kungsbacka Golf Club - One summer day in 1972, one could read in the local newspaper Norra Halland an article written by the chairman of the municipal board in Särö, Josef Broberg. He emphasized in the text his opinion that Hamra Gård would be a suitable place for a golf course.
And there the journey began... After much sketching, many meetings and lengthy discussions throughout most of 1971, the interim group felt that the time was now ripe to formally seek permission for the formation of a golf club.
The first time at the club... In 1972, the board managed to engage the Englishman Frank Pennink, who among other things designed the Wouburn track in England, the Don Pedro track in Portugal also called Vilamoura. The club was also given permission to build the first 13 holes. From the start, Kungsbacka Golfklubb had 100 members in the club.
In 1974, the long-awaited driving range was opened, which became a popular hangout for the club''s then 462 members. In the same year, the club became a member of the Swedish Golf Association. The goal was clear and the club would soon have a complete 18-hole course.
Today the club has 3 fantastic courses with a total of 36 holes!
